All classes experienced the Hour of Code last week. We started out this year by watching a short video about the national movement and why coding is important. See more videos explaining this here. I don't know who or if any of my students will choose fields relating to computer science, but I do know I have classrooms full of problem solvers, innovators, and creators who will learn to use coding in many ways. I hope to revisit the hour of code this year and add even more experiences with coding. Once again this year, we accessed code.org and worked on courses for our experience level; students received an account that will keep track of our progress. We all have a new appreciation for computer science!
