4th Grade Marble Runs-Mrs. Boaz

As you know,  4th grade has been working on aerodynamic properties.  We had been talking about Newton's Laws, potential and kinetic energy, gravity, friction, distance, mass, acceleration . . . all the fun

stuff!  The marble runs we are constructing have challenging building designs.  I've witnessed catapults, springs, collisions, and all kinds of triggers.  Most of these items have been added to slow the marble down.  You see the most successful marble run is the one where the marble takes the longest to get down!  We've begun timing our runs and it surely is not as easy as it sounds.  Stay tuned for our final videos and timings of our marble runs!  Below is our early construction.
